Witches and Vampires Clash in Official Trailer for ‘Coven Academy’

Disney+ released the official trailer Friday for the upcoming supernatural teen drama “Coven Academy” ahead of its Oct. 1 premiere on Freeform. The series streams the following day on Disney+ and Hulu.

Set in New Orleans, the series follows three teenage witches and their warlock peers at an elite boarding school where power is currency and secrets are lethal. Caught in an ancient supernatural war between witches and vampires, the coven must navigate forbidden romance while protecting their city from a brewing threat.

Malina Pauli Weissman (“A Series of Unfortunate Events”) leads the cast as Briar, a fiercely independent New Yorker who discovers she’s a witch. She stars alongside Malachi Barton (“Zombies 4: Dawn of the Vampires”) as Jake, a magnetic warlock with a dangerous edge, and Jordan Leftwich (“Family Switch”) as Sasha, a mind-reading empath.

Ora Duplass (“Their Town”) plays time-bending witch Tegan, while Louis Thresher (“Boarders”) stars as Ollie, a newly turned vampire hungry for control. Tiffani Thiessen (“White Collar”) plays the academy’s formidable headmistress, Miss Graves, alongside special guest star Devon Sawa (“Chucky”) as charismatic warlock professor Mr. Cole.

The recurring cast includes Swayam Bhatia (“Succession”), Brendon Tremblay (“Descendants: Wicked Wonderland”), Keegan Connor Tracy (“Final Destination 2”), BJ Harrison (“Rise of the Planet of the Apes”), and Nathaniel Logan McIntyre (“Michael”).
