Last year, some of you may recall that I was chosen to be a judge in CostumeWall.com’s 2018 Halloween Costume Contest. This week CostumeWall.com finally announced the winners, which were selected with the help of myself, Kaci, The Homicidal Homemaker, FX makeup artist Silvia Quirós, my friend Miranda over at Spooky Little Halloween, and Samberlina Rodriguez, The Haunted Housewife.The late winner announcement was the result of the overwhelming submission rates the site saw in 2018 compared to 2017. In 2018, CostumeWall.com received 1,881 total entries, four times the number of entries they received in 2017. Needless to say it took a bit more work to narrow down the list to the top submissions for the judges panel to make their selections, but alas, here we are and we selected 27 winners across 9 categories.CostumeWall.com gave out $2,000 in prize money in total and you can check out the 2018 winners here, I was extremely happy to see my personal favorite, DJ Pikachu, managed to win first place in the “Best Overall Costume” category.(Image: CostumeWall.com)Details on their 2019 contest aren’t posted yet, but they’re promising “an even bigger and better Halloween Costume Contest” for 2019.
