NACON and developer Teyon have announced Hunter: The Reckoning – Deathwish, an all-new first-person, single-player action RPG that marks the long-awaited return of the Hunter sub-series to the world of gaming.While the broader World of Darkness universe has seen plenty of action recently with Vampire: The Masquerade and Werewolf: The Apocalypse titles, it has been over 20 years since players last stepped into the boots of the Imbued—ordinary humans who have “woken up” to the monsters living among us.In Deathwish, players take on the role of a monster hunter navigating a New York City where vampires, werewolves, and worse pull the strings from the shadows. Much like the classic tabletop RPG, customization is king: players can tailor their Hunter’s skills to tackle supernatural lairs via brute force, tactical stealth, or investigative cunning.While the combat promises to be intense—featuring a massive arsenal of ranged and melee weaponry—the real heart of Deathwish lies in its RPG DNA. Throughout the adventure, players join a cell of hunters and team up with five distinct companions, each with their own backstories and special talents. Beyond tactical support, players can build deep relationships with their squad, with full romance options confirmed for those looking for love in the World of Darkness.Throughout the campaign, Hunters shape their own story by making important decisions, both in dialogue and during missions. Each choice can lead to multiple outcomes and influence the story’s conclusion.
