After Disney’s global “Halfway to Halloween” announcements left Anaheim notably absent, the Disneyland Resort has finally broken its silence. On Tuesday, Disney dropped full details for its 2026 Halloween and Fall celebrations.
Halloween Time will officially kick off at the Disneyland Resort on August 21 and run through October 31, 2026, bringing seasonal overlays, rare characters, and spooky treats.
Halloween at Disneyland
When the season officially begins, Main Street, U.S.A. will transform into the Main Street Pumpkin Festival, anchored by the iconic giant Mickey Mouse pumpkin. In Town Square, Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, and their pals will arrive in new attire just for the season, featuring harlequin motifs, frilled collars and cuffs, and swirling confection details in hues of orange, yellow, and black.
In New Orleans Square, Jack Skellington will again wreck the halls of the Haunted Mansion to transform the attraction into Haunted Mansion Holiday with an all-new gingerbread house design appearing as the centerpiece in the ballroom.
Meanwhile, over in Frontierland, the storied Halloween Tree tribute to Ray Bradbury will once again illuminate the autumn nights for the perfect fall photo op.
At night, vindictive villains will take over Sleeping Beauty Castle, Main Street, U.S.A., “it’s a small world,” and the Rivers of America with colorful projections during the “Halloween Screams” nighttime spectacular. Maleficent, Ursula, and other favorite fiends cackle in the sky to a medley of macabre music. On select nights, the experience is enhanced by a spectacular fireworks display.
Looking for more frightful fun? Disney’s Happiest Haunts Guided Tour will also return this year, offering a one-of-a-kind stroll through Disneyland and California Adventure at an additional cost with valid theme park admission.
Día de los Muertos at Disneyland
Near Rancho del Zocalo Restaurante, guests can experience a vibrant installation honoring Día de los Muertos. The display will feature traditional ofrendas, colorful marigolds, and iconic skeleton figurines (catrinas and calacas).
Halloween at Disney California Adventure
Disney California Adventure is getting a head start on the spooky season. While the full park transformation officially launches on August 21, “Mickey’s Trick and Treat” will debut early at the Disney Theater on August 18, offering little ones a chance to dance to Halloween tunes, play with bubbles, and hang out with Mickey and pals.
Upon entering the park, guests will be greeted by ominous Buena Vista Street decor, featuring the silhouette of Oogie Boogie against a full moon, a cloud of bats bursting from Carthay Circle Restaurant, and the eerie Headless Horseman statue. Down the road, Cars Land gets its annual “car-stume” makeover to transform the town into Radiator Screams. Regular attractions Mater’s Junkyard Jamboree and Luigi’s Rollickin’ Roadsters will get their annual spooky overlays, transforming into Mater’s Graveyard JamBOOree and Luigi’s Honkin’ Haul-O-Ween.
For those seeking even more thrills, Avengers Campus gets a terrifying upgrade late each afternoon. The Collector’s Fortress transforms into Guardians of the Galaxy – Monsters After Dark, where guests must team up with Rocket Raccoon to rescue Groot from a fortress overrun by menacing monsters, complete with plenty of unexpected ups and downs.
Día de los Muertos at Disney California Adventure
Paradise Gardens Park will again host Plaza de la Familia from August 21 through November 2. This massive celebration of family and the spirit of Día de los Muertos is heavily inspired by Pixar’s “Coco,” and features live mariachi music, a memory wall, and a traveling troupe of storytellers who bring the songs of “Coco” to life.
Paradise Garden Grill will also offer specialty food and beverages featuring Mexican-inspired flavors, including the returning Chilaquiles Carnitas Torta with red chilaquiles, refried beans, avocado spread, queso fresco, pickled red onions, and a fried egg served with chips.
Oogie Boogie Bash
The crown jewel of Disneyland’s fall season, Oogie Boogie Bash – A Disney Halloween Party, is officially returning to Disney California Adventure on select nights from August 18 through October 31. This separately ticketed, after-hours event allows guests of all ages to wear costumes, walk immersive treat trails, meet rare villains, and experience exclusive entertainment.
New for 2026: Madame Leota’s Swinging Wake
In a massive crossover twist, this year’s bash will debut “Madame Leota’s Swinging Wake – A Haunted Mansion Street Party.” This brand-new entertainment offering brings the iconic spirits of Disneyland’s Haunted Mansion over to the streets of California Adventure for multiple show-stopping moments hosted by Madame Leota herself.
Guests looking for a premium experience can book the Oogie Boogie Bash Dessert Party, which will feature an upgraded viewing area and a new selection of treats themed to Tim Burton’s “The Nightmare Before Christmas.”
Tickets for the Oogie Boogie Bash go on sale June 18, 2026, no earlier than 9 a.m. PST, with pre-sale opportunities available to select groups in advance.
