Narrative-Driven Sci-Fi Horror Game Impermanence Announced

What if grief could rewrite reality? Bad Choices Loud Noises and Duckosaurus Games intend to answer that with Impermanence, a narrative-driven sci-fi horror game centered around obsession, loss, and the cosmic cost of refusing to let go.

The title was announced during the Future Games Show Summer Showcase 2026 alongside a haunting debut teaser trailer that introduces players to the abandoned Orpheum Theatre. Inside, a grieving scientist attempts to reconstruct his son’s spirit through sound. But as he traps echoes of life, he awakens a greater force: the universe’s need to let go.

Steering clear of traditional combat and gore, Impermanence focuses on tension, decay, and emotional unease by blending atmospheric psychological horror with tactile, sound-driven mechanics.

Impermanence is currently in development for PC, targeting a 2027 release, and is available to Wishlist on Steam.
