Midsummer Scream’s theme for 2026 is ‘Horror Musicals.’ As a tie-in, the Halloween and horror convention has just announced a “Repo! The Genetic Opera” cast and creators panel for Saturday, August 8.
The panel will be moderated by SlashFilm’s Lead Evening Editor and Fangoria contributor BJ Colangelo, who will be joined on stage by director Darren Lynn Bousman, actor Bill Moseley, and co-writers and creators Terrence Zdunich and Darren Smith for an exclusive Q&A.
As an added treat, the panel will be immediately followed by a special shadowcast performance by Addicted to the Knife. The Southern California-based Repo! shadowcast will present a Surgical Sampler, featuring highlights from “Repo! The Genetic Opera,” accompanied by their spectacular, high-energy live shadowcast performance.
“Repo! The Genetic Opera” is a gothic rock opera set in a dystopian 2056. It follows Shilo Wallace (Alexa PenaVega) as she uncovers the bloody truth about her father’s career as a “Repo Man”—a state-sanctioned assassin who forcibly reclaims organs from those behind on their payments.
