Video Game Adaptation of Shudder’s ‘Creepshow’ Coming to PC in August

“Creepshow,” Shudder’s acclaimed horror anthology series, is getting an officially licensed video game. This August, indie horror publisher DreadXP and developer PHL Games are bringing the franchise’s signature blend of wicked scares, twisted humor, and comic-book-style dread to PC.

Inspired by the hit television series executive-produced by horror legend Greg Nicotero, the game captures the spirit of the beloved anthology through self-contained tales of terror. With creative direction from Brian Clarke (“The Mortuary Assistant”), players can expect dramatic gameplay and shocking surprises.

From psychological horror to the blackest of humor, the game puts players in the shoes of Danny, whose search for the truth behind his father’s past spirals into a dark, supernatural mystery. Fate eventually leads Danny to The Reader, a mysterious fortune-teller with a penchant for treacherous tales.

“Getting to publish the iconic ‘Creepshow’ brand as a game has been a creative dream we don’t want to wake up from, and we think it’s going to pull a whole new audience into the Creep’s tent,” said Patrick Ewald, Founder and CEO of DreadXP. “The teams at AMC, PHL, and DreadXP have put a lot of work in to create something that genuinely feels like you are living (or dying) inside a ‘Creepshow’ episode, and we can’t wait for fans, old and new, to play it.”

Whether you’re a longtime fan of the franchise or a newcomer looking for a fresh brand of horror, Creepshow arrives on Steam this August and is available to Wishlist now.
