Acclaimed Survival Horror Game ‘Total Chaos’ Is Coming to VR

Apogee Entertainment and developer Trigger Happy Interactive are bringing the oppressive nightmare of Total Chaos into virtual reality. Announced during Thursday’s VR Games Showcase, Total Chaos VR Edition promises to plunge horror fans directly into the madness of Fort Oasis.

Current owners of Total Chaos on Steam will receive the VR Edition as a free update. A standalone version is also coming to the Meta Horizon Store for Meta Quest 3 and Quest 3S.

Total Chaos pulls players into the abyss of Fort Oasis, a desolate mining island consumed by a lingering shadow of paranoia and dread. Twisted monstrosities stalk the island’s depths, forcing players to scavenge resources, craft makeshift weapons, and piece together the tragic collapse of the community before their sanity runs out.

The VR Edition has been thoughtfully adapted around virtual-reality play rather than simply transferring the original experience into a headset. Item locations and resource distribution have been reworked, while select sections have been altered and rebalanced to suit VR interaction and pacing. The result preserves the oppressive atmosphere, brutal combat, and psychological horror of Total Chaos while offering returning players a fresh journey through Fort Oasis.

Total Chaos VR Edition is coming soon to SteamVR and is currently available to wishlist on the Meta Horizon Store. Release dates and pricing details will be announced in the coming months.

Total Chaos is currently available on Windows PC through Steam, GOG, and the Epic Games Store, as well as XBOX Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch 2.
