Sally Face 2 Announced: Cult Indie Horror Returns for 10th Anniversary

Ten years after a boy in a prosthetic face first talked to the dead on his handheld video game system, cult indie horror hit Sally Face is getting a sequel. Developer Portable Moose has officially unveiled Sally Face 2, confirming a Steam Early Access release and making the game available to Wishlist on Steam.

The news comes as part of the franchise’s 10th-anniversary celebration. Picking up after the haunting climax of the original 2016 game, Sally Face 2 continues the post-apocalyptic side-scrolling adventure, following a group of friends struggling to find meaning in a world broken by darkness.

The game has been in development since 2021, with Sally Face creator and Portable Moose founder Steve Gabry at the helm, alongside a newly expanded team.

Inspired by 1990s cartoons and Gabry’s personal nightmares, the original Sally Face debuted in December 2016. It follows Sal Fisher, a boy with a prosthetic face who uses a modded handheld gaming system to interact with ghosts. What starts as a localized investigation into apartment murders quickly spirals into a fight against a shadowy cult threatening his small town.
