Developer Smilingface and publisher Indieformer have revealed Devilcoin, an upcoming horror roguelite where surviving an occult purgatory comes down to the toss of a coin.
Steeped in Slavic folklore, the game traps players in a high-stakes gamble against a horned host seated behind a dark counter. Having sold your soul for quick cash, your only path to redemption is outsmarting the devil at his own game by manipulating odds and placing tactical wagers.
Core gameplay revolves around risk management. In each round, players must hit a target score within a limited number of coin flips. Winning a flip awards currency used to buy game-altering Artifacts and Blessings—boons that multiply payouts and bend probabilities in your favor. Missing the target score ends the run immediately.
Between attempts, players can explore the purgatory chamber to solve puzzles and uncover persistent unlocks. These secrets expand the playable space, offer new items, and slowly piece together the lore behind your character’s damnable predicament.
Devilcoin is available to wishlist on Steam.
