The Mailroom: Cozy-Horror Workplace Simulator Now Available on Steam

Indie developer Crowfriend and publisher Vendetta have launched The Mailroom, a new cozy-horror workplace simulator now available for PC via Steam. Players can also download a free demo on the platform.

Set within a regional branch of the underworld, The Mailroom places players in the shoes of a newly minted—and deeply confused—living mail sorter. With no memory of how or why they arrived, players are thrust straight into routine shift work.

Gameplay centers on inspecting infernal mail, sorting out unwanted junk, and routing it to the appropriate floors of Hell. However, simple sorting quickly gives way to increasingly erratic workplace duties. Each day presents unique challenges and introduces new mechanics. Players must maintain blood-fueled equipment, manage resources to satisfy demonic supervisors, and dissect or interact with unusual biological specimens delivered to their workstation.

Visually, the game pairs a pixelated 3D art style reminiscent of 1990s retro titles with a high-contrast aesthetic, balancing cold brickwork against hellish red flames. Beneath its grim atmosphere lies a healthy dose of dark humor, mixing routine necromancy with absurd office hazards. As players advance, expanding access to the surrounding facilities reveals deeper secrets behind the office walls—and whether an exit truly exists.

The Mailroom is now available on Steam, with a free demo accessible directly from the store page.
