Twelve years after redefining modern survival horror, Creative Assembly is finally taking us back into the world of the “Alien” franchise. On Friday, during the Summer Game Fest 2026, Sega officially announced the highly anticipated sequel: Alien: Isolation 2.
The upcoming chapter promises to bring players face-to-face once again with cinema’s deadliest apex predator, the Xenomorph. However, the nightmare is moving to a brand-new backdrop.
Alien: Isolation 2 shifts focus away from Amanda Ripley, putting players in the shoes of a brand-new protagonist. Survival this time around means enduring both the Xenomorph and the elements, as players navigate a remote, storm-ravaged colony world.
The heart of the horror lies within Kurosaki Station, a claustrophobic Weyland-Yutani outpost that serves as the Alien’s new hunting ground. To survive this high-stakes game of cat-and-mouse, players will be forced to scavenge, improvise, and develop entirely new tools and tactics.
“It has been over a decade since we created the original Alien: Isolation, and I am so excited to show everyone the first glimpse of the sequel,” said Al Hope, Creative Director at Creative Assembly. “Our dedicated Survival team at Creative Assembly has been working hard to create a new, evolved Isolation experience continuing the legacy of the Alien franchise, making the eponymous killer smarter, the environment harsher and the chance of survival slimmer.”
While Sega has not yet confirmed a release window, they have revealed that Alien: Isolation 2 is officially headed to PC via Steam, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and the Nintendo Switch 2.
