On Sunday, Dead by Daylight celebrated its 10th anniversary with a massive event in Montreal, Canada. Behaviour Interactive closed out the festivities with a special 10th Anniversary Broadcast, making a slew of announcements about what fans can expect from the game in the coming months and years—proving the iconic horror title shows no signs of slowing down.
New Killers
Jason Voorhees
News of Jason Voorhees’ arrival in Dead By Daylight came ahead of the 10th anniversary event, but with the iconic Killer set to arrive on June 16, Behaviour showcased him in action using footage from the recent Steam public test build.
For Jason, the developers leaned heavily into his classic horror persona: he is resourceful, relentless, and no matter where you run, he always seems to be right behind you. Jason’s Power grants players a near-supernatural level of stealth, allowing them to teleport across the map. While in this state, Jason can track Survivors by the sound of their footsteps, which leave a visible trail for the Killer to follow.
Jason is also an improviser; he can pick up a projectile or hook and launch it at a Survivor in the distance, pinning them down with a successful hit. Once impaled, Survivors must struggle to remove the makeshift weapon, giving the Killer ample time to close the distance. Finally, Jason can unleash a vicious jump scare with his Jump Scare ability, shattering any nearby breakable objects in the process.
Art the Clown
Though details were slim, actor David Howard Thornton made a dramatic entrance in full Art the Clown makeup and costume to announce (silently, of course) that “Terrifier” is officially coming to Dead by Daylight. Art the Clown will enter The Fog in November 2026.
Frank Stone
Frank Stone—the Killer at the heart of Dead by Daylight lore and the focus of Behaviour and Supermassive’s spin-off game The Casting of Frank Stone—will arrive in the main game next year. The team revealed that Stone’s story will continue as a full, dedicated Chapter arriving in March 2027.
New Survivor: Shane Wiigwaas
On June 25, a new Survivor-focused chapter titled The Life Road will debut. As part of the update, the game’s first Indigenous character, Shane Wiigwaas, will join the roster. Voiced by “Reservation Dogs” and “Fallout” actor Dallas Goldtooth, the character is a member of the Anishinaabe community. Before unfortunate circumstances brought him into The Fog, Shane was a lawyer representing First Nations communities across the Americas.

New Map: The Mall
Coming to the game this December, this all-new map was born directly from community feedback. When asked what kind of environments they wanted to see, players overwhelmingly requested a mall and “liminal spaces.” To satisfy both requests, Behaviour created The Mall. This map feels deeply familiar but carries the creepy, nostalgic “liminal space” vibe that has become popular among gamers and various online communities.
The map also expands the lore of the game’s original roster; The Mall will be tied directly to a past trauma of original Survivor Dwight Fairfield.

New Chapter: Chorus of Sin
Dead by Daylight’s first-ever community-created Chapter, Chorus of Sin, also received an update. The upcoming release features The Judgement—a terrifying divine force bent on cleansing sin (a thematic first for the game)—and Aurora, a spiritual scientist from a ruined world. The Chapter is in its final stages of production and will launch on August 25.
New Event: The Black Banquet
Last year marked the end of the long-running Twisted Masquerade in-game event. During the celebration, Behaviour announced its official replacement: The Black Banquet. Running from June 25 through July 16, this year’s anniversary event is all about food: finding it, devouring it, and, if you’re the Killer, tainting it.
Every Black Banquet Trial will feature two courses:
- The Main Course: Sets a unique global effect for the entire trial.
- The Dessert Course: Arrives later in the match, offering new buffs.
Survivors must work together to gather ingredients and build a twisted feast to generate team bonuses, while the Killer will be focused on corrupting the feast and poisoning the food.
While other details are currently under wraps, the team shared that the event introduces new cosmetics, letting players outfit some Survivors and Killers with costumes fit for the occasion.

New Collaborations & Collections
Iron Maiden
In celebration of 50 years of Iron Maiden, Dead By Daylight will be releasing a new Eddie Legendary outfit as part of the Iron Maiden Collection for The Huntress.

Ice Nine Kills
Announced alongside the music video for their new single “Play Dead,” horror metal band Ice Nine Kills joins The Fog on June 16. The Collection features band t-shirts and hoodies for several survivors, as well as a mask for The Legion, designed in direct collaboration with the band. Part two of the music video will debut on June 26.
The Walking Dead
While Rick, Michonne, and Maggie from AMC’s The Walking Dead have been in the game for nearly a year, the Collection is expanding with two new Legendary outfits for Rick. The first arrives in August, adding Glenn to the lineup. The second will launch in 2027, bringing the infamous anti-hero Negan to the game.
Expanding the cast will introduce new character interactions and dialogue, including an emotional reunion between Maggie and Glenn. For fans of the show, this reunion carries extra weight, given Glenn’s famously brutal demise at the hands of Negan in the season seven premiere.
Silent Hill
The Silent Hill Collection will expand later this month with a new Legendary outfit for Cheryl Mason that transforms her into Hinako Shimizu from the upcoming Silent Hill ƒ. Looking further ahead to 2027, a new Legendary outfit will transform The Spirit into Silent Hill’s iconic nurse.
Diablo IV
This all-new Collection is inspired primarily by Diablo IV and looks to bring a true demonic presence into The Fog. The Collection will offer new looks for both Killers and Survivors, with Survivors taking on appearances inspired by everything from Necromancers to Barbarians. The characters will be reinterpreted to fit the feel of the Dead By Daylight world, but will retain enough little details true to their original designs.
To tease the Collection, Behaviour showcased the Visceral Legendary outfit for The Artist inspired by Lillith.

Scooby-Doo
Arriving in December, this is easily one of the most requested—and surprising—crossovers in the game’s history, considering how tonally different the two properties are. While few details were shared, a teaser image showed Dwight Fairfield in a bloodied Scooby-Doo onesie.

Dead By Daylight: The Movie
Behaviour also shared a major update on the Dead by Daylight feature film currently in development with Blumhouse. The script has been penned by Alexandre Aja (“Crawl”) and David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick (“The Conjuring: Last Rites”), and the project has officially found its director: Thordur Palsson (“The Damned”).
“Our game is one that is deeply rooted in atmosphere, and it was our goal to find someone with a distinct visual style, who’s also a master at conveying the dread and tension you’d feel when you’re playing Dead by Daylight,” said Stephen Mulrooney, Chief Product Officer and Producer.
Mulrooney shared that the film will take fans to some of the game’s most iconic locations, such as the MacMillan Estate and Greenville, and will feature a mix of more recent and original fan-favorite characters. Shooting is slated to begin in 2027.
The Future of Dead By Daylight
The stream wrapped up by putting a definitive end to sequel rumors: Behaviour re-emphasized that the game will not be getting a sequel. Instead, the team is focused on evolving the current ecosystem.
In addition to new game modes, the most significant upcoming update will introduce entirely new character models and animations, giving the roster a realistic, current-gen appearance. Additionally, the game realms are being overhauled with enhanced realism and a new dynamic weather system, adding a fresh layer of environmental difficulty for both Survivors and Killers. These visual upgrades are slated to arrive in the second half of 2027.
