Funko Releasing a Haunted Mansion Board Game Just In Time For Halloween

It looks like Funko is getting ready for a swinging wake, in the form of an all-new board game inspired by Disney’s The Haunted Mansion.

“The Haunted Mansion: Call of the Spirits” was uncovered by Inside The Magic and is due to be released this October. According to the game’s description players will explore all the classic rooms of the ghost-infested manor, from the festivities-filled Ballroom to the Attic and out to the Graveyard and beyond in search of spirits. But just as you are warned on the classic Disney attraction, beware of Hitchhiking Ghosts, as they may cause some trouble for you.

According to details uncovered from game distributor GTS Distribution, the game will be for 2-6 players with gameplay taking about 30 minutes. Game contents suggest this will be a card-driven game as there are no die and there are three decks of cards: Hitchhiking Ghosts Deck, Ghost Deck and Haunt Deck. Some of the games feature highlights include:

  • Rotating endless hallway that changes player positions throughout the game
  • 99 unique ghost cards featuring illustrations inspired by the original Haunted Mansion
  • Classic bat-stanchion player movers

Beyond the above, details on the game were minimal. I reached out to Funko for more information on gameplay and perhaps some additional game imagery, but was told they are not releasing any additional information at this time.

Funko’s “The Haunted Mansion: Call of the Spirits” is due to be released on October 1, 2020.
