James Gunn’s ‘Slither’ to Make Its North American 4K UHD Debut as Limited Edition Steelbook

James Gunn’s hilariously grotesque feature directorial debut is finally getting the premium treatment it deserves. Radial Entertainment has announced a definitive Collector’s Edition 4K UHD Steelbook release for “Slither,” arriving on June 23, 2026.

The film boasts a stunning new 4K scan from the 35mm interpositive, approved by both James Gunn and director of photography Gregory Middleton. This release is jam-packed with hours of bonus content, including brand-new interviews with the creative team behind the film’s iconic look and sound.

For those who haven’t yet experienced this masterclass in horror-comedy, “Slither” is set in the sleepy town of Wheelsy. It’s a quaint, “Anytown, USA” kind of place—until a dark, unnamed evil arrives from the stars.

Intent on devouring all life on Earth, this slimy entity begins infecting the locals, turning them into mutated, meat-hungry puppets. It’s up to local Sheriff Bill Pardy (Nathan Fillion, “Firefly”) and his team to stop the spread of rampant devastation before the town—and the world—is consumed.
