Elvira, Mistress of the Dark, has partnered with celebrated mystic Renée Watt and artist Gris Grimly for a new tarot deck from Dynamite Entertainment, with the official Kickstarter campaign launching today, Tuesday, November 18. Following the initial announcement by People over the weekend, the campaign gives fans their first opportunity to snag the deck and several other exclusive, Elvira Tarot-inspired rewards.
The first-ever Elvira, Mistress of the Dark Tarot Deck features 78 original works of art by Gris Grimly, illustrating the Major and Minor Arcana. Grimly’s detailed illustrations uniquely capture Elvira’s signature blend of humor, horror, and heart.
The deck comes with an insightful guidebook written by Renée Watt, a lifelong practitioner of the mystical arts, whose words infuse the deck with guidance, humor, and a touch of enchantment—perfect for helping readers understand how to read the cards.
There are several reward tiers for the Kickstarter, starting at $15 (for the Elvira Velvet Tarot Card Bag) and climbing to a $333 tier that includes a signed card set, mat, bag, and an uncut sheet of cards. Though most collectors will likely opt for one of the main tiers:
- $60 Pledge: The Elvira Tarot Cards set, housed in a collector’s coffin box.
- $100 Pledge: The card set, a tarot reader mat, and the Elvira Velvet Carrying bag.
The campaign reached its $6,666 goal in minutes, but runs through December 22, 2025. This gives fans plenty of time to back the project and secure their decks, which are currently expected to arrive by June 2026.
