Last week LEGO unveiled its complete lineup of LEGO® Super Mario™ Adventures brick sets, and among the 16 new sets revealed is an expansion set dedicated to the Paranormal Dimension’s top ghost, King Boo.

Inspired by the ghost house levels featured in the Super Mario video games, the King Boo and the Haunted Yard Expansion Set will add scary new level elements that can be used to build your very own Super Mario levels out of LEGO. The 431 piece set features King Boo, Swoopers (these are what bats are called in the series), and a pair of Goombas all of which feature action bricks that will generate different interactions with the LEGO Mario figure, which has LCD screens in its eyes, mouth and belly to display instant reactions to movement, color and action bricks.

In addition to the above set, another spooky addition announced is Peepa, which will be available as one of 10 collectible enemy characters that will be available in blind bag Character Packs.

Every Expansion Set and collectible Character is made to be used with the Adventures with Mario Starter Course, for an enhanced play experience.

The new sets are scheduled to be released on August 1. The base set–which is the only set to include the electronic Mario “digi-fig”–is available to pre-order now for $59.99.
