Lovecraftian Horror Game ‘The Shore’ Celebrates 5th Anniversary with Console Release

Five years after its PC debut, atmospheric Lovecraftian horror adventure “The Shore” is coming to consoles. Dubbed the ‘Enhanced Edition,’ this milestone release from Dragonis Games and publisher Iphigames promises to bring the studio’s signature brand of oppressive, cosmic dread to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.

Originally released on PC in February 2021, “The Shore” quickly gained recognition as a standout indie horror experience, praised for its oppressive atmosphere, towering eldritch entities, and deeply personal narrative rooted in cosmic horror. Created by Ares Dragonis as the debut title of Dragonis Games, the game resonated with horror fans worldwide and established the studio’s reputation for atmospheric, story-driven experiences.

Now, through a publishing partnership with Iphigames, “The Shore: Enhanced Edition” enters a new chapter. The game has been fully adapted for modern console platforms, delivering a refined and immersive experience optimized for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.

“Five years ago, we released The Shore and introduced players to a world of cosmic dread”, said Ares Dragonis, founder of Dragonis Games. “Bringing the Enhanced Edition to consoles is both a celebration of that journey and an opportunity to share this nightmare with an entirely new audience. We’re grateful to everyone who has supported the game since 2021, and excited to welcome console players to the shore.”

“The Shore” is a first-person horror adventure that blends exploration and environmental puzzles in a world shaped by ancient gods and forbidden knowledge. Players take on the role of Andrew, a father searching for his missing daughter on a remote island abandoned by humanity. As he explores decaying ruins and twisted landscapes, reality begins to fracture. The island hides secrets older than time, and every step forward pulls him deeper into a nightmare shaped by fear, loss, and obsession.

Ancient gods lie hidden beneath the island, slowly changing the world above. Armed with strange artifacts and fragments of forbidden power, players must survive encounters with eldritch beings while uncovering the truth behind the island and Andrew’s daughter’s fate. Knowledge comes at a terrible cost.

“The Shore: Enhanced Edition” is coming to consoles later this year, launching first on PlayStation 5, with Xbox Series X|S scheduled to follow. The game is available to Wishlist now on the PlayStation Store.
