If you missed out on this past weekend’s theatrical preview of “Stranger Things: Tales from ’85,” Netflix is giving you another shot to see what the new animated spinoff is all about. On Tuesday, the streamer debuted the first six minutes of the series on its social media channels.
The preview gives viewers a first look at episode one, titled “Welcome to Hawkins, New Kid,” which opens, giving us a first look at the new horrors haunting Hawkins. The preview also introduces fans to the animated versions of Eleven, Mike, Lucas, Max, Dustin, and Will, as well as Jonathan and Hopper.

“Stranger Things: Tales From ’85” goes back in time to tell an all-new story set in the “Stranger Things” universe. The series is set in the winter of 1985, taking place in the timeline between Seasons 2 and 3 of the original show. The story reunites the core party—Eleven, Mike, Will, Dustin, Lucas, and Max—as they navigate a fresh paranormal mystery terrorizing Hawkins.
“Stranger Things: Tales From ’85” will premiere on Netflix on April 23, 2026.
