New Trailer Showcases Investigation Mechanics in ‘Cthulhu: The Cosmic Abyss’

As the April release of “Cthulhu: The Cosmic Abyss” draws near, NACON and developer Big Bad Wolf have unveiled a new gameplay trailer centered on the game’s most vital mechanic: investigation.

In this first-person narrative thriller, you are Noah—an agent for the Ancile, an elite office specializing in occult disturbances. What begins as a search for missing miners in the Pacific Ocean spiritually descends into a nightmare as Noah is plunged into the sunken city of R’lyeh, the eternal prison of Cthulhu itself. Alongside your AI companion, KEY, you’ll be forced to solve cryptic puzzles and make agonizing choices, all while battling the creeping mental corruption of the Great Old One.

The latest trailer offers a claustrophobic tour of the Ocean-I mining station. It’s a grisly scene: claw-scarred bulkheads, runes scrawled in blood, unknown organic matter, a severed arm… all clues that point to violent and occult events.

“Cthulhu: The Cosmic Abyss” officially launches on April 16, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Players who want to dive in sooner will have the opportunity with the arrival of a public demo, available on PC during Steam Next Fest starting February 23.
