Silverlake Scream Show, the nonprofit dedicated to championing bold voices in horror, has announced the next installment in its “First Bite” screening series. The program, which celebrates impactful directorial debuts, is bringing Patrick Brice’s 2014 found-footage thriller “Creep” back to the big screen, followed by an exclusive live Q&A with the filmmaker himself.
The special screening will take place on Thursday, June 25, 2026, at 7 p.m. at the Laemmle NoHo 7 in North Hollywood.
“Creep” follows Aaron (played by Brice), a cash-strapped videographer who answers a cryptic online ad: “$1,000 for the day. Filming service. Discretion is appreciated.” Needing the money, Aaron drives to a cabin in a remote mountain town to meet Josef (Mark Duplass), his cinematic subject for the day. While Josef initially seems sincere and his project heartfelt, the vibe quickly shifts. As the day progresses, Josef’s behavior becomes increasingly unhinged, making it terrifyingly clear that his intentions are far from pure.
Originally premiering at SXSW, “Creep” became a massive word-of-mouth hit, spawning a critically acclaimed 2017 sequel and expanding into Shudder’s recent horror anthology series, “The Creep Tapes.”
