On Thursday, Netflix released the first five minutes of ‘Stranger Things 5,’ the final season of the hit series. The five-minute clip’s release coincided with a live red-carpet premiere of the season, which begins with the first four episodes on November 26, 2025.
Interestingly, the five-minute opener takes us back to the very beginning in a flashback set on November 12, 1983—just six days after Will Byers vanished in the first season. The clip offers a crucial glimpse of Will in the Upside Down, a scene that had previously been detailed only in the first “Stranger Things” comic book series. More significantly, it shows Will and Vecna’s first face-to-face encounter. This is a crucial plot point, foreshadowing the two inevitably coming face-to-face again as part of the epic final season’s story arc.

“Stranger Things 5” will be released in three distinct parts: Volume 1 premieres on November 26, 2025; Volume 2 debuts on Christmas Day; and the series finale will premiere on New Year’s Eve, when it will also show in select movie theaters.
