This summer, The Queen Mary in Long Beach, CA, is bringing back its Movie Night Market. They’re kicking things off on Friday, June 13, 2025, with a Spooktacular Bazaar twist on the Night Market paired with a screening of “The Shining.”
The event starts at 5 PM, when guests can explore the open-air market featuring local food vendors, spooky pop-up shops, live music, and a beer garden. Then at 7 PM, guests can settle in for an outdoor “The Shining” screening under the stars.
“The Shining” stars Jack Nicholson as aspiring writer Jack Torrance, who takes his family to the isolated Overlook Hotel for the winter caretaker job. As the hotel’s sinister history and supernatural forces seep into Jack’s mind, his sanity unravels, turning him against his wife, Wendy (“Shelley Duvall”), and their psychic son, Danny. Danny’s terrifying visions, fueled by his “shining” ability, reveal the hotel’s dark past and the imminent danger, forcing Wendy and Danny into a desperate fight for survival against a now-deranged Jack and the malevolent presence of the Overlook itself.
Tickets for the event are just $14 and are on sale now.
The event will also be held on July 16 and August 3 with screenings of “The Goonies” and “Ratatouille.” For more information on this year’s Movie Night Market and other upcoming events, visit QueenMary.com.
