Thrilljoy will be launching new PIX! figures at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC), inspired by the lead characters from John Carpenter’s “The Thing” and the 1999 film “The Mummy.”
Fans of “The Thing” will have the opportunity to get one of two variations of R.J. MacReady, famously played by Kurt Russel in the 1982 film. Limited to an edition size of 5,000, the figure features MacReady holding his iconic flamethrower, wearing his leather jacket and green cargo pants. There’s a one in six chance you may also receive the chase variant of the figure, featuring MacReady covered in ash and snow holding a flare and dynamite in his hands.
R.J. MacReady marks the first character from “The Thing” to join the PIX! line as Thrilljoy expands into more sci-fi properties.
Thrilljoy will also launch two variations of Rick O’Connell, the hero from “The Mummy,” played by Brendon Fraser. Also limited to an edition size of 5,000, the figure features Rick holding a dagger in his hands with his twin pistols at his side—the 1-in-6 chase features Rick O’Connell holding a shotgun in his classic stance.
Rick O’Connell marks the first character of “The Mummy” franchise to get the PIX! treatment, as Thrilljoy expands into more legacy properties.
Each PIX! figure stands approximately 5 inches tall. Both figures will retail for $20 and will be available at SDCC and on thrilljoy.com.
PIX! is the latest toy line from Thrilljoy, the collectibles company founded by former Funko CEO Brian Mariotti. The line features premium details that fans love, including a laser-printed certificate of authenticity, a sculpted wax seal, and a high-end matte collector box. It also introduces new features, such as a high-end cover slip with a perforated pull, adding a mystery box element to each release.
