Toy Fair 2019: Mego’s New Expanded Toy Lineup Includes Universal Monsters, A Nightmare On Elm Street, and More!

Last year, Mego, the company known best for their 8″ celebrity clothed dolls made a comeback after a nearly 35-year absence due to bankruptcy. The company released a line of about 50 new dolls exclusively through Target that included characters from shows like “Charmed,” and “Betwitched,” but for horror fans the most exciting releases were probably Bella Lugosi’s Dracula (which I was lucky enough to get before they sold out) and Frankenstein’s Monster (which I was not fortunate enough to get before they sold out).

In 2019 Mego plans to expand its line beyond Target stores and at this year’s New York Toy Fair they revealed their expanded line, which includes both classic 8-inch figures and 8-inch action figures, which feature 14 points of articulation and licenses for characters from Universal Monsters, A Nightmare on Elm Street, and more. While many argue that the quality of the appearance of Mego’s dolls are hit or miss, I personally like the horror figures showcased at this year’s Toy Fair.
