Ice Nine Kills has officially slashed their way into the “Scream” franchise. On Thursday, the horror-metal titans dropped “Twisting the Knife,” a high-octane anthem featured on the “Scream 7” soundtrack. The track features guest vocals from McKenna Grace, who pulls double duty as both a featured singer and a star in the upcoming film.
The accompanying music video picks up where 2025’s “The Laugh Track” left off, and features Roger L. Jackson reprising his legendary role as the voice of Ghostface. This installment escalates the meta-horror further, with David Arquette (as himself), alongside Johnny Brennan, creator of The Jerky Boys, as Francis Rizzowitz.
The collaboration was first teased in dramatic fashion during the band’s headlining show at London’s OVO Arena Wembley. Fans witnessed a staged slaying of “Scream” star Rose McGowan followed by a chilling video call from Ghostface himself, signaling the band’s official entry into the Woodsboro mythos.
Frontman Spencer Charnas, a noted horror historian, described the track as a “tribute to Wes Craven.”
“’Scream’ is baked into the DNA of who I am,” Charnas shared. “Hearing the killer talk about horror movies, in that distinctively pop-culture savvy Kevin Williamson way, blew my mind.”
Charnas also revealed a full-circle moment regarding the recording process: McKenna Grace recorded her vocals in his home studio, just feet away from an original screen-used rubber knife prop from the 1996 film.
To celebrate the drop, the band has launched the ‘Nightmare on The Knife’ collection. This limited-edition run is a special expansion of their monthly ‘Nightmare on The Ninth’ series and is available now on their official merch site.

Ice Nine Kills’ “Twisting the Knife” is available to stream now across music services. “Scream 7” arrives in theaters on February 27, 2026.
