[WATCH] Mary Shelley’s ‘Frankenstein’ Gets a Horrifying Origin Story in Trailer for Shudder’s ‘A Nightmare Wakes’


Horror streaming service Shudder has released the official trailer for the upcoming Shudder Original, A Nightmare Wakes.

Starring Alix Wilton and Guillian Gioiello and written and directed by Nora Unkel, A Nightmare Wakes is a gothic period piece is inspired by the torrid love affair of Mary and Percy Shelley and the creation of her famous novel, “Frankenstein.” But in this tale, the birth of a monster is not limited to the pages of her novel.

A Nightmare Wakes will premiere on Shudder on February 4.
