Lionsgate has officially picked up the next nightmare-inducing project from Damien Leone, the mastermind behind the smash-hit “Terrifier” franchise. Titled “Tortures of the Damned,” the film will mark a major studio leap for the indie horror auteur.While the studio and filmmakers are keeping the exact plot details strictly under wraps, Leone is set to write, direct, and produce. The project will serve as his official follow-up to the highly anticipated “Terrifier 4,” which is currently in pre-production.Adding even more genre pedigree to the project, horror veteran Sam Raimi (“The Evil Dead,” “Send Help”) and Rob Tapert will produce alongside Leone through their acclaimed Ghost House Pictures banner.Leone will join with producers Sam Raimi and Rob Tapert, who will produce through their Ghost House label.Behind the scenes, Scott O’Brien and Pavan Kalidindi will oversee the project for Lionsgate, while Romel Adam and Jose Cañas will oversee for Ghost House and serve as executive producers.
