James Kondelik’s brutal backwoods horror thriller “Pitfall” is heading to Digital and Video on Demand on June 30, 2026. The indie survival film originally debuted at Los Angeles’ Screamfest Film Festival in October 2025, followed by a nationwide theatrical rollout through AMC Theaters in May of this year.
In “Pitfall,” a remote hiking trip turns deadly when a young hiker is separated from his group and plunges into a concealed pit trap and is severely injured. As his friends desperately scramble to rescue him, they discover the entire forest has been rigged with calculated, lethal traps by an unseen predator (played by UFC Champion Randy Couture) who is watching, testing, and manipulating their every move. To survive the wilderness, they must outsmart the hunter before his twisted design claims them all.
In addition to Couture, the film boasts an ensemble of genre favorites and familiar faces, starring Marshall Williams (“The Ice Road”), Alexandra Essoe (“The Pope’s Exorcist”), Richard Harmon (“Final Destination: Bloodlines”), Jordan Claire Robbins (“The Umbrella Academy”), and Matt Hamilton (“Murder for Sale”).
Kondelik directs the feature, which he co-wrote alongside Victor Rose. The film was produced by Wai Sun Cheng, Alex Bogomolov, and Max Rositsan for Pandapix Pictures in partnership with Dragon Bear Pictures.
“Pitfall” drops on all major Digital and VOD platforms on June 30.
