Fresh off getting his custom Universal Monsters set officially greenlit by LEGO, fan designer Mason Betterly is already taking on his next pop-culture project.
Betterly—known online as SpectralBricks—has unveiled “Over the Garden Wall: Into the Unknown,” an 1,100-piece homage to Cartoon Network’s beloved cult-classic animated miniseries. Designed as a 360-degree display vignette, the detailed build features the lead characters, Wirt and Greg, alongside a treasure trove of nods to the show’s 10-episode run.
Created by Patrick McHale, the critically acclaimed 2014 miniseries follows two half-brothers lost in an eerie forest known as the Unknown. Its blend of 19th-century Americana, folk music, and Gothic horror has made it an autumnal staple for animation and horror fans alike.
Betterly’s submission is already making waves on the LEGO Ideas platform, rapidly crossing the 2,000-vote threshold. Projects must reach 10,000 community votes to trigger an official review by LEGO master designers for commercial production.
With roughly 600 days remaining in its campaign, fans can help bring the Unknown to brick form by creating a free account and voting on the project at the official LEGO Ideas website.
