Steam Demo Arrives for 2D Point-and-Click Adventure Ghost Haunting

Daedalic Entertainment and Three Headed Monkey Studios have released a free Steam demo for Ghost Haunting as part of the Steam Point & Click Showcase.

Inspired by classic 90s LucasArts adventures, the 2D point-and-click title combines hand-crafted pixel art and dark humor with a chaotic young protagonist named Gigi. When Gigi discovers her grumpy grandfather is a legendary ghost hunter, she concocts a reckless plan: if spirits can visit the living, she can venture into the afterlife to bring her late grandmother home.

Joined by a talking pumpkin-demon named Baron Butt(er)nut, Gigi’s quest blends classic puzzles with modern quality-of-life updates, including a built-in hint system, a score system, hotspot highlighting, and fast travel.

“The demo is meant to feel like rediscovering a long-forgotten adventure game from the 90s, except without the floppy disks. Instead, it blends modern gameplay features with the core of classic point-and-click games: Talking to quirky characters, combining ridiculous items, and that leap of joy when a puzzle (finally) clicks into place. We hope you have a great time! Gigi certainly will,” says the team at Three Headed Monkey Studios.

While debuting as part of the showcase, the free demo will remain accessible on Steam after the showcase.

Ghost Haunting is scheduled to launch in 2027 on PC, Mac, Xbox, PlayStation, and Nintendo Switch platforms.
