Grief Turns to Horror in First Trailer for ‘Friday the 13th’ Prequel Series ‘Crystal Lake’

Peacock and A24 have released the official trailer for “Crystal Lake,” the upcoming prequel series to the “Friday the 13th” franchise. The trailer gives us our first glimpse of a young Jason Voorhees at Camp Crystal Lake and the horrific events that unfold after his tragic drowning.

The series stars Linda Cardellini as Pamela Voorhees, a mother consumed by grief nearly a year after her young, sickly son, Jason, drowns in the town lake. When two strangers arrive on her doorstep probing into her past, a disturbing sequence of events ignites the small community, forcing local residents to question the true nature of the grieving mother.

Created by Brad Kane (“It: Welcome to Derry”), the eight-episode horror series will premiere exclusively on Peacock starting Oct. 15.
