Isabella Roland’s Dark Comedy ‘D(e)AD’ to Stream Online Later This Month

Leading global streaming technology company Kiswe, LA-based performing arts venue Dynasty Typewriter, and Charlatan Films are teaming up to stream the dark comedy “D(e)AD.” The live watch party will stream on Saturday, November 29, 2025, at live.dynastytypewriter.com, featuring surprise guest appearances from the cast and crew. This marks the latest collaboration between Kiswe and Dynasty Typewriter, pioneering a new model for movie distribution and monetization that moves beyond the traditional model.

“D(e)AD,” directed by Claudia Lonow, is a darkly funny and personal family comedy about grief, ghosts, and the complicated relationships that follow us even after death. The story follows Tillie, a young woman adrift after her charismatic, alcoholic father dies. When his ghost returns to haunt everyone in the family except her, they scramble to convince Tillie he is still around. With the unexpected help of a reform rabbi and a customer service rep, their efforts quickly spiral into chaos and comedy.

The film is a multi-generational collaboration, written by and starring Isabella Roland (Dropout.tv), directed by and starring her mother, Claudia Lonow (“Knots Landing”). The cast also features the rest of their family, including Brennan Lee Mulligan, Jonathan Schmock, Mark Lonow, and JoAnne Astrow. What began as a self-funded, autobiographical feature has grown into a family-made dark comedy that blends Hollywood polish with an independent spirit and has been screened at 98 independent theaters around the world thanks to a fan-run campaign.

“It is hard to get a film made, especially as a female director. I’m so proud of this movie and thankful to the audience who funded it and got it into theaters,” said Claudia Lonow. “With the help of Kiswe, I can’t wait to stream it live with everyone this Thanksgiving weekend!”

“Great stories shouldn’t be confined to physical theater screens,” said Glenn Booth, CEO of Kiswe. “Our partnership with Dynasty Typewriter and the team from ‘D(e)AD’ will help showcase a new model for film distribution, bringing this incredible independent movie to fans no matter where they live.”

By partnering with Kiswe, “D(e)AD” is reaching new audiences worldwide—bringing its offbeat humor, heartfelt performances, and family-driven storytelling directly to viewers at home.

Tickets for “D(e)AD” start at just $9.99, which includes access to a pre-show, the film screening, and video-on-demand (VOD) access until December 2, 2025. For more information and to purchase tickets, visit https://live.dynastytypewriter.com/.
