Teaser Arrives for Netflix Animated Series ‘Stranger Things: Tales From ’85’

On Monday, Netflix debuted the official teaser for the upcoming “Stranger Things” spinoff, “Stranger Things: Tales From ’85,” an all-new animated series that bridges the gap between seasons two and three of the live-action Netflix show.

Developed by showrunner Eric Robles and “Stranger Things” co-creators Matt and Ross Duffer, “Stranger Things: Tales From ’85” goes back in time to tell an all-new story set in the “Stranger Things” universe. Set during the chilling winter of 1985, the story reunites the core party—Eleven, Max, Mike, Lucas, Dustin, and Will—as they navigate a fresh paranormal mystery terrorizing Hawkins. While the live-action series came to a close, “Tales From ’85” promises to explore lost adventures involving new monsters that haven’t yet graced our screens.

While the original live-action stars won’t be lending their voices to this chapter, Netflix has assembled a talented new ensemble to take over the iconic roles. Leading the pack is Brooklyn Davey Norstedt as Eleven, alongside Luca Diaz as Mike Wheeler and Jolie Hoang-Rappaport (“In Your Dreams”) as Max Mayfield.

Rounding out the Party are Elisha “EJ” Williams (“The Wonder Years”) as Lucas, Braxton Quinney as Dustin, and Ben Plessala as Will, while Brett Gipson steps in as the voice of Jim Hopper. The series also features Jeremy Jordan as Steve Harrington, and veteran actors Lou Diamond Phillips and Janeane Garofalo lend their voices in yet-to-be-disclosed roles.

“Stranger Things: Tales From ’85” will premiere on Netflix on April 23, 2026.
