Belgian indie studio Fire Foot Studios has announced the release date for its four-player co-op horror game, “Jester: A Foolish Ritual,” which will launch on Steam on October 31, 2025.
Set in the dungeons of a medieval castle, “Jester: A Foolish Ritual” lets you and up to three friends explore the cursed castle as one of four resurrected knights. To secure your escape, you must uncover hidden runes, complete the ritual, and break the wicked curse of the Jester who haunts the castle’s halls.
The game features procedurally generated runs, forcing players to adapt as they venture through the cursed castle in search of the ritual components. The Jester’s aggression is tied to your progress: with each item you pick up, he becomes increasingly more aggressive as he realizes you are one step closer to ending his reign. Along the way, players must watch out for deadly traps and jack-in-the-boxes that, if triggered, will send the Jester rushing after them.
Players can take on the Jester solo or as a team of up to four via online co-op. The game utilizes proximity voice chat, and while communication is key, you’ll need to whisper—the Jester can hear you. Stick together for safety, or risk splitting up to search faster, but don’t wander off too far, or you’ll find yourself helplessly lost and alone in the halls of the cursed castle.
“Jester: A Foolish Ritual” will release on Halloween via Steam and is available to Wishlist now.
