Kickstarter Campaign Launches for ‘Ghost Keeper’

“Ghost Keeper,” the scaring experience game first announced in the summer of 2024, has launched a Kickstarter campaign to fund the remaining development. Although the core mechanics are already implemented and the game is nearly complete, the developers are seeking funding to expand content and polish the player experience before the final 2026 release.

The Kickstarter campaign is live now and runs until January 26, 2026, with a goal of $15,057. The campaign has several reward tiers, ranging from a game key at launch to the inclusion of the soundtrack or art book, or even having various forms of your likeness included in-game!

“Ghost Keeper” is inspired by the 2003 game “Ghost Master” (which, ironically, just announced a remaster for 2026). Set in the Victorian Era, the game merges classic elements from beloved old-school, reverse-horror, tactical games with modern innovations. Players become the leader of a spectral crewโ€”ghosts, beasts, and demonsโ€”tasked with spooking mortals, setting traps, and wreaking havoc and fear among mortals.

Each level of the game is its own, distinct sandbox, full of ‘toys’ ready to be weaponized. Each mission is a fresh playground of unique opportunities, forcing players to adapt on the fly and devise schemes as they go. There is no golden path to victory; each task can be completed in multiple ways, making each playthrough a unique, personal experience.

A free demo of “Ghost Keeper” is available now on Steam.
