The terrifying Creole legend of Gran-Mère Kal is coming to Steam this summer. Developer 23h59 and publisher Pixel Sunset Studio have announced that “KAL,” a first-person psychological horror title, is set to haunt PC players this June.Set on Reunion Island in 1948, the story begins when a sudden cyclone forces you into the ruins of an abandoned Creole mansion. What begins as a search for shelter quickly devolves into a temporal loop, forcing you to relive the harrowing story of Kalla—the enslaved woman whose vengeance fueled the legend of Gran-Mère Kal.The experience centers on high-tension exploration within the suffocating atmosphere of the estate. With only a trusty flashlight to pierce the darkness, you must navigate shifting corridors to unearth artifacts and reconstruct a fractured history. This is a psychological descent into the grim realities of colonial life, where players must piece together haunting fragments of the past to understand—and perhaps escape—the cyclical vengeance of the Gran-Mère Kal legend.A playable demo for “KAL” is currently available on itch.io and Steam, where the game is also available to Wishlist ahead of its summer release.
