The Great Halloween Puzzle & Podcast: Father-Daughter Duo Launch Kickstarter for Unique Halloween Experience

Craig Engler, the former GM of Shudder, and his daughter have launched a Kickstarter for a rather unique Halloween experience: The Great Halloween Puzzle & Podcast, a project they call the first-ever puzzle accompanied by a podcast. The idea struck them one fall while they were building a puzzle, when they began wondering, “What’s the story behind this?” That led to the logical conclusion: “someone should do a podcast to tell you about the puzzle while you’re building it.”

The Great Halloween Puzzle is far from ordinary. This all-new, 1,000-piece premium jigsaw experience is a comprehensive Halloween kit that includes a companion podcast, a custom playlist and watchlist, a recipe, and more. Most distinctively, the puzzle, which features hand-drawn artwork by comic book artist Ryan Dunlavey, transforms as you build it, revealing surprises, twists, and hidden secrets right before your eyes.

While you build it, the accompanying podcast delves into the history of Halloweenโ€”explaining why we dress up in costumes, bob for apples, and carve pumpkins. More excitingly, the finished product isn’t exactly the same as the picture on the box. As you put the pieces together, the art transforms: a friendly dog becomes a werewolf, the Headless Horseman reveals his true self, and the house on the hill decays into a haunted mansion. The podcast serves as your guide, giving hints and clues as the secrets are revealed.

The campaign runs through Halloween with pledges currently available as low as $25. To learn more about the experience or to back the project, visit The Great Halloween Puzzle & Podcast Kickstarter.
