Players step into the shoes of Chris David, an American who inherits a dilapidated hotel in the fading English seaside town of Kingswood-on-Sea. The gameplay splits across a 30-day/30-night cycleDuring the day, players can restore the grand and the surrounding village. These spaces can be renovated and decorated using the game’s renovation tools, including the sandblaster, paint sprayer, and furniture cannon, and some restorations unlock ghost stories, hidden memories, and secrets within the buildings themselves. As darkness falls, your renovation tools take on a second life. Your power tools begin to talk, and the wallpaper starts to whisper. Players must use their gear as a ghost-hunting arsenal to investigate the town’s eerie locations, such as the village church, and begin to unravel the supernatural mystery at the heart of the game.Music is more than just a backdrop here. The trailer features “Skeletons in the Closet,” an original track by Marcia Richards of The Skints, who also lends her voice to the character Lily. With over 10 original songs, each key resident of Kingswood-on-Sea has a musical story waiting to be uncovered.“There Are No Ghosts at the Grand” has a demo available now on Steam, where you can also add the game to your wishlist.
